HISTORY OF 100 SUITS

Founded by Kevin Livingston in 2011, 100 Suits for 100 Men, commonly known as “100 Suits,”  began its journey by addressing the critical need for business attire among New York City's underserved communities, particularly Southeast Queens. Recognizing the continued need for its services, the organization embraced a larger mission by obtaining 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in 2015. This transition underscored our dedication to providing professional attire and tackling our community's broader socio-economic challenges.

At the core of our mission is providing job seekers with free professional attire, enhancing their confidence and employment prospects. Our services also extend to grooming services, ensuring every individual feels dignified and prepared for new career opportunities.

Led by the voices of our community, our initiatives have now grown to include more robust workforce development programming tailored to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary for sustainable employment. Additionally, recognizing the unique needs of the aging population, we have introduced programming specifically designed to support older adults in their pursuit of employment and active community engagement. An integral component of our community engagement incorporates stipend youth trainees and their development through gaining valuable and transferable skills, while forging intergenerational bonds.

Through partnerships with organizations like Know Your Rights Camp, local religious communities, Goodwill Industries, and various influential figures, we amplify our impact and drive toward our goals of empowering New York City residents. As we look to the future, we aim to expand our team, enhance our resources, and develop comprehensive programs that cater to our diverse and changing community. Finally, 100 Suits is steadfast in its commitment to empowering all individuals, regardless of ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation, ensuring that success is accessible to everyone.
